Ride Overview:
Explore the picturesque Cannock Chase as you embark on this fantastic 80km & 50km gravel sportive. Meandering through smooth gravel trails in the forest and quiet backroads, this early-season ride caters to riders of all skill levels. It’s a perfect opportunity to wrap up your 2023 gravel season and discover the breathtaking Staffordshire countryside.

Fully Signed Route:
Our dedicated team ensures the best gravel routes in the UK. All courses are thoroughly signed, allowing you to focus on enjoying the ride.

Checkpoints with Proper Food:
A ride of this caliber deserves proper support. Enjoy tea, coffee, and cake at the first feed, and sandwiches & crisps at the main feed. Checkpoints approximately every 30 – 35km.

Accurate GPX Files:
A few days before the ride, receive GPX files for all route options, enabling you to follow the course on your GPS and navigate seamlessly.

Mechanics Available:
Mechanics are stationed at the rider village & selected feed stops to assist with any bike issues. We also provide spare inner tubes, CO2, and more.

Rider Support Vans:
We’re here to ensure you have a fantastic day on the gravel. Support vehicles are just a phone call away for major mechanicals or assistance.

Beer at Finish Line:
Celebrate your accomplishment at the finish line with a refreshing beer & food available from our food truck. It’s the perfect way to share your experiences with fellow riders.

Event Program:

14th March: GPX files and pre-ride briefing sent by email to each rider.
16th March – 8:15 am: Ride village at Tackeroo campsite opens. Collecting your ride number takes approximately 10 minutes.
16th March – 8:30 am to 9:30 am: Ride start. A short ride briefing will set you off in small groups.
16th March – 5:30 pm: Rider village closes
16th March – 7 pm: Link to ride times & rider photos sent to each participant by email
Long Route:
Embark on a thrilling 79km journey through the heart of Cannock Chase, experiencing gravel trails, wooded landscapes, and challenging climbs.

Medium Route:
The 53km medium route offers a slightly easier option, maintaining the essence of the long route but with reduced complexity.

Bike Selection & Packing List:

Bike Choice:
Gravel bikes are ideal for this ride, with some sections on back roads and most off-road segments on smooth forest trails. Mountain bikes are acceptable but slower, while road bikes are not allowed. E-bikes are welcome.

Tyre Choice:
A fast-rolling or all-rounder 35mm to 40mm tyre is recommended. Conditions will be updated closer to the ride.

Packing List:
Be self-sufficient with equipment such as inner tubes, sealant, multi-tool, pump or CO2, etc. A bell is recommended to alert walkers/runners.

Clothing:
Layer up for the fresh weather with arm & leg/knee warmers, a gilet, waterproof jacket, etc. Helmets are mandatory.
