Mark your calendars for the 9th Annual Dirt Diggler Gravel Grinder, an extraordinary gravel bike race taking place in the stunning Transylvania County, North Carolina, this fall! Commencing and concluding at the scenic REEB Ranch, this thrilling event promises a backcountry/gravel road tour, unveiling some of Western North Carolina’s best-kept secrets. Prepare to journey through the picturesque DuPont State Forest, venture through gated private property, and culminate the ride on 2 miles of exhilarating singletrack. With a meticulously marked course, chip timing, fully supported rest stops offering medical assistance, and SAG wagons, riders can expect an unforgettable adventure.
Event Details:
Date: Saturday, September 9th, 2023 (Rain or Shine)
Time: 45.5-mile ride – Mandatory ride meeting at 7:55 am, ride starts at 8:00 am.
27-mile ride – Mandatory ride meeting at 8:25 am, ride starts at 8:30 am.
Registration Fees: $60 until 8/6/23, $70 until 9/3/23, $80 on race day.
Packet Pickup: Registration packets can be collected on race morning from 6:00-7:30 am. Early packet pickup is available on Friday from 5:00-7:00 pm at the start/finish area at REEB Ranch Farm. Remember to bring your I.D.
Amenities: Timing with Category Results & Awards for the Top 3 in specific categories, well-marked route, rest stops with medical assistance (if needed), SAG Wagons, time clock, restrooms, and more. Award recipients must be present to receive their well-deserved accolades.
Camping: Enjoy camping options on both Friday and Saturday nights. After the event, delicious food will be available for purchase.
Required Gear: Safety first! All riders must wear a secure helmet throughout the race.
Rest Stops: Stay refreshed with 2 rest stops on the 45.5-mile course and 1 on the 27-mile course. These stops offer H₂O, Energy Drinks, Coke and Sprite, assorted snacks, fruit, PB&J sandwiches, and plenty of encouragement from our rest stop personnel!
T-Shirts: Pre-registered participants by August 13th, 2023, have the option to get their hands on exclusive event T-shirts.
Join us at the REEB Ranch in Hendersonville, NC, where the race start/finish line awaits. To reach us, simply head south on Highway 64 from the intersection of Highway 280, Highway 64, and 276 in Pisgah Forest, and turn right on Crab Creek Road at the traffic light. Follow Crab Creek for 4.5 miles until you spot Shoal Falls Road leading to the REEB Ranch.
