Gran Fondo Hincapie 2024 – A Gravel Cycling Adventure

Join George Hincapie for an authentic gravel cycling experience across the picturesque rolling hills and open grasslands of California’s Central Valley. The inaugural West Coast Gran Fondo Hincapie kicks off from the heart of Merced, CA, leading you on an epic journey into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. After your ride, revel in the celebration at our family festival, complete with complimentary food and beverages.

CHOOSE FROM 3 DIFFERENT COURSES:
Stunning views, challenging climbs, fast descents, and a whole lot of gravel await our Gran cyclists! All the dirt and drama a good gravel ride should have. Tackle 5 climbs, feeling like 10, on this 84-mile route with 45 miles of gravel.

SAFETY NOTES: This course is designed for gravel or cyclocross bikes. Participants on mountain bikes can enjoy the gearing range for climbs and increased comfort on descents. Road bikes are not recommended on this course. Please respect private ranch land, avoid riding through gated sections except on the event day.

For Medio cyclists, stunning views, a monster climb, and loads of gravel await! Half the climbs, half the elevation, and all the fun of the Gran. Dip your toe into gravel riding with this inaugural event covering 61 miles, with 50% on gravel.

SAFETY NOTES: Similar to the Gran course, these routes pass through private ranch land. Respect the landowners and refrain from riding through gated sections except on the ride day.

For Piccolo Family Fun Ride participants, enjoy a fun course with manageable challenges! The Piccolo Family Fun Ride is a 2-hour closed course circling the capital, perfect for kids or your first group ride experience. No awards for top finishers, but there will be raffle prizes for all Piccolo finishers (must be present at the Awards Ceremony to win).
