Slibinai (The Dracos) – An Extraordinary Baltic Beach Expedition

On January 4, 2025, Palanga, Lithuania, will host Slibinai, a unique winter survival adventure that tests the limits of endurance in the harshest Baltic conditions. This formidable journey takes place on the very first weekend of the year, where participants will face winter’s fiercest elements—wind, blizzard, snow, and the relentless sea battering the dunes. Only the most resilient of riders, the Dracos, will complete the challenging route.

In 2024, Slibinai relocates its headquarters to the stunning town of Nida on the Curonian Spit, promising a full weekend experience hosted at the Skalva Hotel.

Routes Available:

Slibinai 100: A demanding 100 km route from Nida to the South Pier of Klaipėda Port and back.
Mini-Slibinai 60: A challenging 60 km route from Nida to Juodkrantė and back.
Slibinėlai: A scenic 70 km route through the Neringa forests, ideal for gravel bikes with narrower tyres.

Friday, January 5th:

17:00 – 21:00: Meet and greet, package handover
21:00 – 00:00: Dinner and cultural activities including Himalayan Slibinai, World Gravel Champs review, and European Gravel Champs analysis
Saturday, January 6th:

08:20: Start at Parnidis Dune Observation Deck
19:00: Awards and afterparty at Skalva Hotel featuring velo-DJ’s Simonas Jakubauskas, Justé B2B, and Laurynas Tramplynas
Sunday, January 7th:

10:00: Curonian ride from Skalva Hotel
