Spring Classic 2024: A Fusion of Italian, Belgian, and French Cycling Culture in Odder

Italian, Belgian, and French cycling cultures will converge in Odder on March 16th, creating a unique blend of influences at the Spring Classic 2024. This gravel race/event, set against the picturesque backdrop of the East Jutland market town of Odder, promises participants a thrilling experience with its challenging terrain, small uneven roads, the fragrance of the forest, and encounters with the local fauna.
Race Details:
Participants can choose between two challenging distances: 120 km or 67 km. Embracing the spirit of camaraderie and adventure, the motto for the event is “Business in front – Party in the rear.”
In addition to being a top-notch gravel race, the Spring Classic GRVL pays homage to some of the most iconic Spring Classics in cycling history, namely the Tour of Flanders, Strade Bianche, and Paris Roubaix. Expect a delightful infusion of Italian, Belgian, and French culture, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of these legendary cycling monuments.

The Route:
The scenic route will take cyclists south, east, and west of Odder. Participants on different distances will traverse open countryside, forested areas, dirt roads, field roads, old disused railway lines, and charming villages. The 118 km and 67 km routes also offer breathtaking views of the coastal areas along Horsens Fjord.
Starting and finishing at Spektrum Odder, the race concludes with 1.5 laps of “hard-packed gravel” around the Odder stadium’s running track, paying tribute to the challenging terrain of Paris Roubaix.

The route delves into the rich cultural history of Odder, dating back to 1363 when the town was first mentioned. Exploring the region’s past monuments, participants will have the opportunity to connect with the area’s heritage.
