China Glory Cycling’s 2022 busy cycling season started with the Tour of Turkey. Since that race, the team has been busy racing throughout Europe. Let’s take a deep dive into the bikes used by the team to compete against the best riders in the world.
Starting with the frameset, China Glory Cycling has chosen the Pardus’ Robin EVO eTap. It is designed to maximize stiffness and strength. It includes an integrated aero bar, the Robin Evo Wing Aerodynamic, with all inner cable routing, giving it a sleek design. The medium-size frame weighs in at only 740 grams. The fork and integrated bar are also exceptionally light, weighing less than 300 grams each. The seatpost and bar tape are also from Pardus. The paint perfectly matches the team’s red and yellow kits.
In cycling, it is well known that the right wheels can offer a massive gains in both weight and aerodynamics. China Glory Cycling is using carbon wheels from Elitewheels. The team is using custom wheels based on the DRIVE series. The wheels are 50mm deep, feature carbon spokes as well as ceramic bearing. Just like the consumer Drive series wheels, they offer not only a very aerodynamic profile, but also excellent stiffness while also being exceptionally light. Elitewheels knows the importance of marginal gains, and seeks to offer the best performance possible.
As for the groupset, the team is using the new Shimano Dura-Ace 9270. There have been many improvements over the last series, including faster shifting, improved braking performance, an additional gear, and a rear derailleur that can accommodate a 34T low sprocket, allowing for more versatility.
The team is also using the Garmin Edge 830 cycling computer, which is favored by many for it’s almost endless number of functions. The team has also chosen to use Fizik saddles.
The bikes showcase both renowned Chinese and non-Chinese products. The team is showing that the best Chinese brands can perform in even the most competitive international races.
