Drive 40V Rim Brake
The Drive 40V is dedicated to those who want an all-rounder that is more geared towards riding in the hills and mountains. The wheelset features carbon spokes, light and stiff UNI carbon fiber as well as high precision, ceramic bearing hubs. It is also tubeless-ready. The Drive 40V is for those who want a pro-level wheelset.
To enhance braking performance, the Drive 40V upgraded the original UD brake track to a 3K 45°twill weave carbon fiber brake surface engineered for superior stopping power and long-lasting durability. As a result, the total weight has been adjusted to 1299g for the pair.

Cassette mount done, tires set too. First observation after a couple of rides:
not a single sealant leak on the edge of the rim which was the case with my previous set, rear wheel well balanced noticed downhill. Not a single noise at any time, braking became very reactive after 20/30 kms only and they feel really reactive uphill, they make a good match with a 11-32 cassette.
And with regard to the manufacturing quality, it’s flawless.
Not to mention the additional tool, glasses and socks as gifts :).
Even if it’s just one weekend since I have them with little ride mileage, the first impression is extremely good.

Hesitated for a couple months before buying these wheels but so glad I did! They replaced a 10 year old set of Campagnolo Shamal alloys on my Colnago C59 and what a difference they made, it feels like a totally different bike! Fitted them with TPU tubes and Veloflex Race 25mm tires, not only is it faster but the handling is superb and they flatten out the climbs. I still haven’t changed to tubeless on my road bikes ( don’t like to fool with messy sealant ) but the valves were superior to the ones on my MTB so I switched them out, they cured a recurring problem I’d had getting valves to seat properly. With the discount code from Hambini I couldn’t pass them up, I’ve wanted to try carbon spokes for awhile but didn’t want to spend big bucks. Fit & finish are on par with other brands I’ve used, definitely superior to the Reynold Assault tubular I’ve used lately.

It is great to see that they have made a big difference in the ride feel, including the handling, speed, climbing performance, and tubeless valves. Drive 40Vを購入して、約1年使用しました。今でこそ有名メーカーですが、当時はあまり見たこともないホイールでしたので、ダメもとで購入しました。結果、大正解でした。リムブレーキのブレーキ面もカンパのAC3のような溝があり、付属のブレーキシューを使用するとよく止まります。ハブの回転も一年の使用で問題ありませんでした。良いホイールです。

Great wheelset. Was very hesitant to buy these wheels, beeing a “noname” chinese brand, but these are great. I put on about 700km with them, with lots of winds and steep climbs. These wheels are fast, really fast. And light, you definitely feel it as you climb those 15% hills, and are not afflicted by side winds. Tubeless setup was unbelievably easy, got a pair conti gp 5000 s tr using nothing but hands, seated the tyres with standart floor pump and sealed with Peaty’s sealant, all in all it took me 15min altogether and the tyres are sealed since. I pump them up to 5bar front and 5.5bar rear, and it holds for 24h.
In short I will say these are way better then my previous Reynolds wheels (dv46 and Assaults, both tubular)…

ヒルクライムがメインのターマックに購入しました。
今までロバールにキシリウムと使用して来ましたが、driveが1番乗り心地がいい感じです。
手持ちのホイールは全てチューブレスで運用してますが、driveはクリンチャーでも充分乗り心地が良いです。
巡航スピードも大変良く、今のところ価格以上の性能で大変満足しています。
欲を言えば艶消しカラーも有ると嬉しいです。

1. The wheels sealed on tubeless Schwalbe Pro One very easily.
2. They are very light and you feel it even on small incline uphills.
3. My Cannondale CAAD10 looks amazing on them.
4. The rim is directional and the braking surface is superb to the competitors (rim brake).
5. Spokes tension is high – the wheels don’t rub the rims even during sprints, but those who ride very harsh roads perhaps would feel it though my tubeless setup with 26mm tires improve ride quality in those situations.

Hi Danny. Thank you for sharing your experience. It is nice that they were able to seal easily and that they have proven to be a good climbing wheelset. In addition to 26mm tubeless tires being more compliant, the wheels are also aerodynamically optimized for that tire width.

DRIVE 40V ultra light weight wheelset review (verified owner) –
I got this wheelset to replace my standard aluminum wheels that came with my bike.
I was looking for something lightweight and some aero gains without sacrifice to handling.
I’ve done 500km so far on these wheels on wet and dry conditions.
I’m no expert, but to me these wheels are very responsive as they are very light.
You can immediately feel the difference from the first paddle stroke.
Very stable even in the crosswinds as they are not too deep.
Actual weight with rim tape on was 1272g on my scales.
I don’t know about longevity yet as I haven’t had them long enough to say.
100% would recommend to anyone looking to upgrade.
No point wasting your money on something 2x or 3x the price.
