DRIVE RIMS
At Elitewheels, we design our Drive wheels to match the needs of professional riders. In order to deliver the best performance, we incorporate our own UNI carbon fiber, a specific ratio of T800 and T1000 carbon fiber (*Read more about UNI technology), making rims not only strong, but also exceptionally light and stiff. The U/V-shaped rim profile of the Drive 50D was chosen to make the rim both aero as well as stable in windy conditions. The Drive 50D’s 21mm inner rim allows for wider tires to be run, allowing for more comfort and grip.

CARBON SPOKES
What separates the Drive 50D from most other wheels is its use of high-modulus carbon spokes. They are 3.2mm wide aero bladed spokes, offering 7% more lateral stiffness as compared to equivalent steel spokes. The carbon spokes are mechanically secured, giving the benefit of being able to be trued and maintained just like regular steel spokes. Anti-loosening technology is also incorporated into the spoke nipples. The threads built into the nipples give them a double-locking effect.

To get the most out of carbon fiber spokes, we specifically designed the hub with high flanges to further increase lateral stiffness and improve handling. Elitewheels manufactures its own high precision hubs with Fanuc CNC machines, which can machine to tolerances of just 0.02mm. This not only allows for lower rolling resistance but also increases bearing longevity.

CERAMIC BEARINGS
The 50D’s front hub uses two 6803 mixed ceramic bearings. The rear hub uses one 6903 and three 6803 mixed ceramic bearings. These large bearings offer better rigidity. The use of mixed ceramic bearings will allow you to have a more efficient bike, saving you precious watts.

I am impressed with the build quality and the look of the wheels. You can immediately feel the upgrade. They are lightweight, stiff and responsive. The tubeless setup was easy. I just needed a floor pump, and there was no need to remove the valve core to inflate them and get the tire seated. I just have to get used to the louder sound of the freehub then my previous wheels.

I have the Drive 50D wheels and so far they have been great to ride! The bike feels much lighter, faster and responsive because of these wheels.On my wheels the spoke tension seems to fluctuate a bit more than in some reviews I saw but they all are within 15-20% variance. The wheels are quiet on the road and are pretty stiff but still comfortable to ride. I’m exicted to do many km’s with these in the future and will definitely recommend to my friends. The value for money is simply great!

These wheels really transform the look of the bike and the carbon finish looks great in the sun. Love the sound the carbon rim makes at high speed. Have had these for almost two years in all weather conditions and they show no sign of wear. Have re-greased the outer bearings to keep the water out and got spare bearings for future services. The rolling resistance is still as good as new. Have had a couple of punctures but no scratches to the carbon. Run these with inner tubes using 42mm valves and 20mm black valve extender and 28mm Vittoria Next tires for an all black consistent look.

I had been riding DT Swiss 1100 ERC Dicut wheels for a long time but have now upgraded to the Drive 50D!
The finish on them is beautiful when you finally get to see it in real life (photos rarely do it justice).
Mine weighed in at 1285g for the set out of the box and they are perfectly trued. Can I also just say how much I love the freehub sound…
When riding, the difference in acceleration is immediately noticeable, wonderfully stiff and responsive.
They climb very very well and I’m glad I went for the 50 instead of the 40 as the weight difference is minimal but still get the aero gains for everyday riding.
They cruise effortlessly at 35/40kph and strong side winds are dealt with in a controlled manner – not at all twitchy.
Value wise, it’s no brainer – you’d pay 2500 upwards on other brands to get close to this level of spec and quality.

Riding the Druve 50D for more than 3000km, I‘m really impressed. It’s a lightweight and stiff set for a really good price. I hit a few potholes as well and the rims took like nothing and are still true.
In comparison to my previous wheelset with 40mm rims it safed a lot of weight and feel faster.
The look and quality is really good, specially the carbonlook with the glossy finish. Shipping was faster than expected and arrived safely packed.

En plus d être super belles Les 50d sont très bien finies , légères , et déjà équipées de fond de jante ( pour tubeless où tubetype) + une paire de valves tubeless.
Achetées cette hiver j’ai déjà bien roulé avec les 50d
J ai pu les monter sur plusieurs vélos…et j ai aussi pu les comparer avec toutes mes autres roues..
A chaque fois mes vélos étaient meilleures !!!
C est a chaque fois un plaisir de les utiliser les roues sont réactives , confortable, rapides… Aussi elles sont faciles quand en fin sortie quand les jambes sont dures….. je les utilise même pour les courses critérium…( Même si je compte gagner encore en nervosité avec les 40d ou les hélix)

Wheels is just amazing. i bought a mixed depth, and it just amazing. got 50D for the front wheel and 65D rear wheel. and it just fullfill my needs, since i need speed, but i also dont want to lose control when the wind blasts me, and im just a 57kg rider. rear wheels is really fast, downhill as well, it just has enough rotation mass to push me forward even faster on downhill, but not only downhill but also on the flat, its easier to keep a fast pace with the 65D even when i only have 50D front wheel. I can only recommend this wheels. and now im even considering a 40D wheels, since im a lightweight rider, just to make it even more perfect for me as a lightweight rider with lightweight bike and wheels.

The 50D front and 65D rear is an excellent choice for most riding. For a light bike that has the edge when it comes to climbing, the 40D is definitely an optimal wheelset.

I own a couple of standard wheelsets by Elitewheels for years, now it’s the top product line Drive for my new BMC Teammachine SLR.
Impression after the first 1,000 k is superb. Quality and weight are excellent – I validated the trueing and it’s very good. Riding impressions are perfect so far.
My only question mark stands behind the hubs – had one former freewheel break with Elite standard ws years ago under racing conditions and yes, the freewheel is noisy (I don’t care). Time will tell if the rear hub lasts.

I really cannot find any other disc wheels that have all the above.
My only 2 criticism is that the hub is a little loud for my personal preferences. And that you need to be careful to avoid scratching the rim otherwise just use a black marker to hide the scars.

Wonderful wheelset! Fast, reliable, durable, strong. It makes a huge impact riding these guys with my Colnago V3RS (had some Dt Swiss ARC 1100 before), and the crosswind stability is top notch. The customer service (mixed depth, 50front&65rear) was also very helpful. This will not be my last Elite wheelset!! Don’t waste your money on big brands, give these guys a try!

These wheels are magnificent. I am not at my best now so can’t comment on their performance. However they are true (running for 2 months now) and look nice on any bike. I opted for the black decal but not sure if my decision was correct! Fitted Goodyear Eagle TR very easily and didn’t need to use a high pressure pump or compressor to sit the tyres in the rims.
Hubs are very noisy (but I don’t mind)!

I just got a Drive 50D wheelset and installed them to my Specialized Allez Sprint 2021. I’ve consider this wheelset and Hyper D45 but I guess I made a perfect choice. I installed new Vittoria Corsa Pro tires on them with tubless setting and these wheels are super light, stiff and has really low rolling resistance. It feels like you are riding on the cloud. Especially compared to my previous wheelset from Light Bicycle AR46, I can feel the big difference in pretty much everything. My wheelset was nicely packed and safely delivered to me and took only 23 days. Processing time took maybe 16 days because of manufacturing the wheelset but the shipping took only 7 days to get to my place. I highly recommend this wheelset if you are the one who is looking for a light, stiff, fast, affordable and cool looking wheelset. The marvel or glossy finish is just top notch to me. Don’t hesitate to get Drive 50D wheelset. There are tons of compliments and good reviews on Youtube.

Got a set of the Drive 50D for my Specialized Aethos after watching Trace Velo and Peak torque and man are these things amazing. Light, stiff, and maintain speed well. My set came at 1290g and that’s lighter than most 30mm carbon wheels come at like half the price. The wheels were perfectly packed in a really quality box and free shipping option from the day I placed the order to my door took 22 days. Again, for the money to get a 50mm wheel at 1290g* that has carbon spokes, and ceramic bearings that perform insanely well is pretty crazy. I wasn’t sure I would love the glossy look or the silver decals but they look really great. I 100% would buy again and I am looking at the Drive 40D for a spare wheelset.

I have had all sorts of high end wheels over the years and these are top quality. I have owned Enve, Zipp, DT Swiss, Mavic, Cannondale and many other high end wheel sets and I can say these are as good or better in every way. These are my first carbon spoked wheels and they are very light and responsive. I will never again spend 2K for a wheelset. Excellent wheels, wanted a lightweight set of hooked 50mm wheels and these are perfect. I was slightly apprehensive of them being delivered from to the UK from China but had absolutely no problems whatsoever. They were delivered before the expected delivery time with no issues getting through customs etc and arrived very well packaged and pretty much ready to use. They weigh roughly 1300g (minus tape) for the pair, tyres are super easy to mount and its great to have the option to customise decals / hubs etc. Definitely would buy again if I need another set!

These wheels are the bomb! Light, aero, wide(er), ceramic bearings, carbon spokes, stiff(ish), tubeless ready, and the glossy raw carbon looks really good. Do yourself a favor and get tires with a tan sidewalls too. Mine are the Continental GP 5000’s in 28mm and they fit the wheel width perfectly. Ialso own a pair of Winspace Hypers in the same depth and they feel very similar. I’m not really concerned about the carbon spokes as they have been very reliable on my other wheelset that uses the exact same spokes. There are lots of YouTube reviews on these wheels and they seem to have worked out all the kinks. No complaints here. I even got mine without logos to show off that fancy carbon underneath.
The only downside of the wheels is that you have to take the tire and rim tape off in order to true the wheel. Probably best to let your LBS handle it.

Overall pleasantly surprised; build quality is great. I have two sets. One is EliteWheels Road Bike Carbon Wheels 700c Clincher 50mm U Shape from Amazon and the other is Drive 50D version. The first one broke twice, but the I really like the feel of the wheel as they are very comfortable to ride with and the second (Drive 50D) is very light and it feels quite hard to maintain at the high speed. I like to use the Drive 50D for steep hills, not for flat roads. I especially like the finish on the Drive 50D wheels.
