1) When should I buy one extra DT Swiss MSR freehub?
With this MSR freehub, you can mount Shimano Micro Spline MTB/Gravel cassettes on your DT Swiss Road rear wheel hub. For example, if you are switching to new Shimano RX820 1×12 groupsets with the CS-M8100-12 cassette, the MSR freehub will be needed.
2) Why should I buy one extra DT Swiss MSR freehub?
Currently, DT Swiss does not provide road bike hubs with the Micro Spline freehub. The DT Swiss MSR freehub is only sold as a conversion kit.
