The Velo 82D features a 21mm inner / 31.5mm outer rim width, specifically optimized for 25C–30C tires. The 31.5mm outer width seamlessly blends with the tire sidewall, creating a smoother rim-to-tire transition that improves airflow attachment and minimizes turbulent drag. On the road, this means more substantial sidewall support, a more stable contact patch—and tangible confidence through corners. On the straights, the interface feels calmer, more planted, with noticeably less buffeting in crosswinds.

The Velo 82D is equipped with the Motion hub—a pawl-ratchet freehub mechanism proven in WorldTour races, including the UAE Tour by our sponsored UCI pro teams. It delivers low rolling resistance and lasting durability.

Like all our hubs, the Motion hub is CNC-machined in-house on 5-axis equipment. S&S ceramic bearings reduce friction and extend service life, while bearing seats are machined to within 0.02mm tolerances—ensuring minimal rolling resistance and maximum longevity.

The Velo 82D features lightweight Alpina Ultralight Aero steel spokes, produced by the century-old Italian company Alpina Raggi. Among the lightest steel racing spokes available, they deliver significant weight savings while offering excellent durability, longevity, and improved aerodynamics.
