The Race

It was the last day of the race series on a circuit in Bucharest. This loop was flat and fast. The winner of the 52km stage, Daniel Babor, had an average speed of 49.43km/h. During the race, there was a breakaway, and a handful of riders from the China Glory Cycling team managed to close the gap, one of which was the team’s sprinter, Matteo Malucelli.

The Finish

In the final few kilometers, Malucelli ran a bit out of road though still managed to podium. The rider had this to say, “I came a little bit too far from behind. A third place was the maximum result possible.” Regarding his performance and the support of the team, the rider added, “I did not have the best week of my career. I did not feel super strong, but I wanted to give one last go here in Romania, especially as they worked so hard all stage long for me.”

Another Opportunity

The team has another race coming up in Le Tour de Langkawi in Malaysia. Malucelli has high hopes that it will be another good opportunity to get a top finish.
