Jul 1, 2024 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Canada Day Populaire

The 2024 Canada Day Populaire, organized by the BC Randonneurs Cycling Club, will offer three distance options to participants: a 157 km route, a 100 km Celebration Route, and a new 50 km route. This event is scheduled for July 1, 2024, marking Canada’s 157th birthday.

157 km Route: This challenging route celebrates each year of Canada’s confederation with a kilometer for every year. It passes through scenic locations including Fort Langley, Matsqui, and Sumas Mountain, providing riders with a diverse mix of terrain. There are two starting waves at 8:00 AM and 8:15 AM. Controls along the route will offer refreshments like water, Gatorade, and snacks.
100 km Celebration Route: This route, updated for 2024, begins at 8:30 AM. It features a scenic round-trip to Birchwood Dairy and back, offering a mix of quiet roads and picturesque landscapes.
50 km Route: Starting at 9:00 AM, this new route for 2024 is designed for those seeking a shorter, yet fulfilling ride.
The start and finish for all routes are located at Robert Bulpill Park in Langley, which is a change from the previous location at Yorkson Community Park. Registration is required online and is capped at 450 participants, with no registration available on the day of the event. Each participant will receive a control card and a route sheet, as the routes are not marked.
