Giro Della Montagna 2024

The Giro Della Montagna, translating to “Tour of The Hill” from Italian, is a vibrant celebration of the City of St. Louis, showcasing its unique charm and character. Unlike serene forest rides, the Giro immerses participants in the fiery allure of the city’s red brick landscape. Cyclists navigate through iconic neighborhoods like St. Louis Hills, Carondelet, and the Central West End, experiencing an urban adventure that contrasts beautifully with more rustic trails.

The event kicks off early, with registration opening at 6:30 am and an open start window from 7 to 8 am, allowing flexibility for participants. The thrilling Gateway Cup races, organized by Big Shark Bicycle Company, begin at 10:30 am, adding a competitive edge to the day’s festivities.

Starting from the eastern corner of Botanical and Marconi, the Giro offers more than just a ride. Trailnet’s GC Prime Viewing Party, complete with covered bleacher seating, snacks, unlimited Urban Chestnut beer, and Fitz’s beverages, provides a prime spot to catch all the action.

New for 2024, the Giro Della Montagna introduces a partnership with the World Affairs Council STL, featuring a “ride-within-a-ride.” This unique tour explores how international communities have shaped St. Louis, with presentations at historically significant locations. The guided group ride departs at 8 am, led by a World Affairs Council team member.

Additionally, the weekend includes the Ride to Unite on Saturday, August 31st, hosted by Cycle St. Louis. This free, leisurely 5-mile ride on the Gateway Cup race course at Francis Park emphasizes inclusivity in cycling, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities.
