Granguanche Trail 2024

The GranGuanche Trail, taking place on November 24, 2024, in La Graciosa, Spain, offers a unique cycling adventure across the Canary Islands. This challenging route, available in three distances—600 km, 700 km, and 800 km—invites cyclists to explore a diverse range of landscapes, from sandy beaches and volcanic terrain to lush rainforests and ancient pine forests. Participants will traverse empty deserts, moon-like lava fields, tropical canyons, and rolling sand dunes, capturing the varied essence of the archipelago.

Mirroring the spirit of the endurance rides from the late 1800s, the GranGuanche Trail honors the audax tradition of unsupported long-distance cycling, with a contemporary twist. Cyclists are given a time limit based on the departure of the next ferry, reflecting the event’s historic roots. While adhering to classic audax principles, the event encourages riders to form groups and draft each other, embracing both the camaraderie and the challenge of ultra-cycling.
