Round Denmark Bike Race

Round Denmark Bike Race is a scenic and challenging event features a road race covering 1,964 km and a gravel race stretching 1,976 km. Both races kick off in Helsingør (Elsinore) on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 8:00 am.
Participants will encounter diverse terrains including asphalt, gravel, dirt, cobblestone, and sand, making the race suitable for experienced riders. The road race incorporates approximately 130 km of gravel to avoid busy roads, while the gravel race includes over 584 km of gravel paths. The event emphasizes elevation challenges, with the road race climbing 8,658 meters and the gravel race 10,595 meters, compounded by varying weather conditions like wind, heat, cold, and rain.
The race is limited to 30 riders for the road edition and 20 for the gravel edition, catering specifically to those new to long-distance unsupported racing or seasoned gravel riders. As a non-profit event, it’s organized entirely by volunteers without any commercial interest.
The route encompasses Denmark’s picturesque landscapes, rolling hills, coastal areas, traditional fishing towns, farmland, and forests. Unique to this unsupported race, riders must use five different ferries, adding an extra layer of strategic planning to match the ferry schedules.
This iteration of the race builds on previous routes from 2018 and 2019, enhanced by feedback from participants in those years. More detailed information about the race and its specific requirements can be found in the Athlete Guide.
