Seattle to Portland (STP) Bike Ride
This epic 200+ mile bike journey, known as the Kaiser Permanente Seattle to Portland Presented by Alaska Airlines and organized by the Cascade Bicycle Club, stands as the largest multi-day biking event in the Northwest. It attracts up to 8,000 participants who traverse the route from Seattle to Portland over one or two days. The next event is scheduled for July 13-14, 2024.
STP Finish Line and Volunteer Opportunities
At the Portland terminus, the Finish Line is managed by the Portland Bicycling Club and located at Holladay Park near Lloyd Center. We coordinate the efforts of up to 160 volunteers to facilitate the Finish Line activities and celebration. This event is a critical fundraiser for our club.
Volunteer sign-ups are available online at SignUpGenius.

STP Friday Buses
We provide transportation for both you and your bicycle from Portland to Seattle. Your bike will be carefully wrapped in moving blankets and loaded onto a truck, while you travel in comfort aboard a luxury motor coach. Both bikes and riders are reunited near the University of Washington dorms. Buses and trucks load at the Doubletree Hotel in Portland, starting at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, with the first bus departing as soon as it’s full. The loading continues until all equipment and passengers are aboard, with the last bus leaving by 10:00 a.m.
Cost for bus and bike: $100
Overnight Parking at the Doubletree Hotel: $45 (one night or two)
Rider only transportation: $50
These services are purchasable on Cascade’s STP add-on website. For questions regarding the Friday buses, please contact Corey Eng at [email protected].
Bike Only Transport
We also offer bike-only transportation on a case-by-case basis. Since bikes are not secured at the drop-off point, you must either meet your bike as it is unloaded or arrange for it to be secured with the Friday Bus Coordinator. This service is available for $50.
