Shifting Gears Beachrace Zeebrugge 2025

The Shifting Gears Beachrace is set to take place in Zeebrugge, starting and finishing at the monument near the Icarus Surf Club. The event kicks off with a mass start at 10:00 AM, featuring two race options to suit different levels of experience and fitness. Participants can choose between the 48 km race for seasoned riders and the 24 km race for those seeking a less strenuous challenge.
Course Overview
The racecourse offers a mix of scenic coastal stretches, technical sections that navigate up and down the seawall, and challenging sandy passages. Starting from the monument, racers will complete a 12 km loop incorporating paved sections, a descent near the Icarus Surf Club, and several technical sand segments. Competitors will complete multiple laps based on their chosen distance, with electronic timing ensuring accurate results.
Event Experience
The event is designed to deliver an exceptional experience, aiming for happy and satisfied participants. It features professional timing, a well-crafted course, and an exciting finish area. New additions include a dedicated bike wash zone, a 6D Sports Nutrition recovery area, and a special discount code for participants.
Race Details
Registration: Online registration is available for €20 (24 km) or €25 (48 km).
Start Time: 10:00 AM at the monument near the surf club.
Facilities: Includes beachside beats, recovery zone, insurance, marked course, and a secure bike parking area.
Program:
Opening: Secretariat opens at 08:30 AM and closes at 09:45 AM for number collection.
Race Start: Mass start at 10:00 AM for both distances.
Finish: Approximately 12:30 PM.
Podium and Awards
Podium ceremonies will follow the completion of all races, featuring awards for the top 3 finishers in both distances and various categories. New this year, prize money will be awarded in the 48 km category only.
Rules and Regulations
Cancellation Policy: Refunds available with a valid medical certificate up to 20 days before the event.
Race Equipment: Mountain bikes only; no cross or electric bikes. Helmets are mandatory.
Fair Play: Participants must adhere to fair play rules, including not being towed or receiving outside assistance.
