Tour d’Opale 2024

Tour d’Opale 2024 features an unforgettable cycling adventure in the picturesque Côte d’Opale region. This three-stage event takes riders from the cycling-crazy region of West Flanders to the lesser-known cyclist’s paradise of Northern France. Beginning at the Romain Maes monument in Zerkegem, the route follows quiet trails along waterways through Nieuwpoort, Veurne, Bergues, and Ardres, culminating in Boulogne-sur-Mer, the Opal Coast’s capital.

The journey includes a mix of flat terrain and challenging climbs. The final 50 kilometers of the first stage are packed with elevation, ending with the steep Mont d’Ecault. The “Queen stage” features over 2,000 meters of climbing, starting along the rugged coastline and passing through scenic towns like Wimereux, Audresselles, and Wissant before tackling the formidable Cap Blanc Nez and the undulating terrain of the Parc naturel régional des caps et marais d’Opale.

The final stage offers early obstacles, including the Mont d’Herquelingue, before easing off towards Saint-Omer and Cassel, with the last climb leading back into Belgium through Watou.
