Utrecht Ultra 2024, an ultra-distance race designed to be accessible to all, from seasoned athletes to those new to ultra-cycling. Whether you’re looking to challenge yourself for the first time or seeking a practice race, Utrecht Ultra offers the perfect opportunity to experience the thrill of ultra-cycling.

The Utrecht Ultra 2024 race is set to kick off on Saturday, August 3, with a mass start at 18:00. Riders will embark on a challenging journey with 100 hours to complete the course, ensuring they make it back in time for the finishers party on Wednesday, August 7 at 22:00. This timeframe allows participants one evening and nearly four full days to complete the race.

This self-supported race requires riders to rely solely on their own abilities, prohibiting the use of external support services. In keeping with the spirit of such events, no prizes will be awarded to the winners, emphasizing the personal challenge and achievement aspect of the race.

The route for Utrecht Ultra offers a mix of free and fixed segments, with the vast majority (99%) being on tarmac roads. The journey begins in Utrecht and follows a fixed route south, concluding in the scenic Hoge Kempen National Park. Riders will then chart their own course, passing through three checkpoints. The first checkpoint is located in Huy, Belgium, followed by the Ardennes near Bouillon, Belgium, and finally the Eifel region in Germany. These checkpoints include short mandatory parcours and manned checkpoints. After the last checkpoint, riders will head to Zuid-Limburg, The Netherlands, before following another fixed route back to Utrecht, completing the challenging and scenic loop.
